Different error messages signal different issues, but there are a few things to check, whatever error message you see.
- If you get the error message "Card already registered, please check balance" follow the steps in this article to check your balance.
- If you get the error message "Card cannot be used, please contact customer service" follow the steps below.
1. Enter the 14-digit code without hyphens
When you're registering your YouChoose gift card, enter the 14-digit code without hyphens.
- Physical cards: you'll find the code under the scratch panel
- Digital cards: the code is in the email for your gift card
2. Use the number 0 rather than the letter O
Your 14-digit code won't have the letter O in it. Make sure that you're entering the number '0' instead.
3. Add your address to your YouChoose account
You can sometimes have problems registering your card if there's no postal address on your account.
Follow the steps below to add your address:
- Log in to your YouChoose account.
- UK customers: log in here
- Irish customers: log in here
- Click the profile icon in the top right corner.
- Select Account, then click Edit your data.
- Enter your postal address and click Save.
